KZN's Ukhozi FM Radio Station Broadcasts from Salt Lake City Temple Square

Ukhozi FM Radio Station based in Durban with over 7 million African listeners is spending a week in Salt Lake City with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

The group arrives in Salt Lake City on July 17, 2014 to begin their tour and broadcast!

It all started with Reverend Zulu, previously the Religious Program Manager of Ukhozi FM Radio and Presenter Kansas City and their love of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's rendition of 'Come Follow Me' and thus a friendship with General Manager, Bonga Mpanza. This friendship with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints resulted in the invitation from the Church to UKhozi FM Radio station to send Mpanza and a broadcast team to the Church's headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah (Also the home of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir).

Ukhozi FM is one of the biggest radio stations in the world and the largest in Africa with its listenership in constant access of 7.2 million over the past decade. Ukhozi FM broadcasts mainly in IsiZulu and loosely targets IsiZulu speaking and understanding audiences in South Africa.

Ukhozi FM’s headquarters is in KwaZulu Natal, Durban, with its iconic personalities easily recognized throughout the country The station caters to people ranging from young to elderly, but specifically the youth…reinforcing a sense of pride and culture to the young people of South Africa.

Ukhozi FM provides an interactive environment for its listeners, affording them access to News, Current Affairs, and Talk shows, Music, Drama, Sports, Education, Weather and Traffic, with much emphasis on local content. During their trip to Salt Lake City, the radio station will be broadcasting their experiences to their audience back at KZN Province. This unique approach will be recorded daily on newsroom and will also contain daily video links.
