Elder Rasband visits the Durban Temple site after meetings with Saints

A Landmark Visit

Elder Ronald A. Rasband of The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles has made a landmark visit to the construction site of the Durban South Africa Temple. His visit capped a weekend of prophetic counsel for priesthood leaders, members and the missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Elder Rasband arrived in South Africa on May 19, 2017 to share his witness of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. In Durban, he met priesthood leaders at a special Priesthood Leadership Conference. He also met with the missionaries serving in the Durban South Africa Mission.

In all his addresses, Elder Rasband encouraged those in attendance to strengthen their faith, build testimonies of the gospel and put Jesus Christ at the heart of everything they do. He also held a Young Adult Devotional on Sunday following a special conference for the Durban and Hillcrest Stakes (geographic areas made up of contiguous congregations, also known as wards or branches).

But before wrapping his visit to Durban, Elder Rasband visited the construction site of the Durban Temple, and was briefed about the progress being made. He acknowledged the wonderful opportunity that now awaited the members of the Church once the Temple is completed.
