Church issues statement saying President Monson hospitalized

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has issued a statement announcing that President Thomas S. Monson has been hospitalized.

The statement by Eric Hawkins, the Church spokesman, said: "President Monson was not feeling well last evening (Monday, April 3, 2017) and was admitted to the hospital. He has received treatment and fluids and will hopefully be released soon."

No other details are available at this time.
