Programs known as seminary and institute are available to obtain such a unique form of education. They include, studies of the Old and New Testament, The Book of Mormon, Church History and courtship and marriage and are available for young adults between the ages of 18-30 and seminary youth between the ages of 14-18.
Institute allows young adults to grow in their knowledge of God, scripture, and the application of the principles taught in the scriptures. Growing up in a spontaneous world, one which is faced with daily changes in world trends, social media standards, pressures from those who have chosen to believe in nothing and moral degradation, institute provides a place of refuge not only for those of the Mormon faith.
Much of the youth today have questions; ones they are not afraid to ask, but would prefer to ask Google. “A survey of 500 youth highlighted how central technology has become to young lives. Almost half of youth use Google at least five time’s day …” Institute allows an environment where that same half of the 500 young adults can ask their questions.
Elder M. Russel Ballard, a church leader, taught, “Seminary, institute, or religion classes will provide balance to your life and add to your secular education by giving you another opportunity to spend time studying the scriptures and the teachings of the prophets and apostles."
