Searching for ones family can be a great hobby, but for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, finding theirs is a spiritual experience. FamilySearch is a service provided by The Church. FamilySearch’s commitment to helping people connect with their ancestors is rooted in the Mormon belief that families are meant to be central to our lives and that family relationships are intended to continue beyond this life.
Wayne is excited because of the growth of family research being done in Uganda. In 2016 the amount of searches in Uganda is up 200%!!! Without even having centers! The Church wants to give people more tools to be able to complete even more of their family genealogy work; bringing more families together. In September the Family History director will be going to Uganda to set up the computers and to do training with consultants who will be servicing the people.
