Sister Aburto and Sister Oscarson visit with members at start of Africa trip

Sister Reyna I. Aburto, Second Counselor in Relief Society general presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Sister Bonnie L. Oscarson, President of the Young Women organisation, have begun their special visit to Africa.

This past weekend they met with members and local leaders in the greater Johannesburg, South Africa area. They conducted training for the local leaders and devotionals for the youth, young single adults and the missionaries.

On Monday, August 21, 2017 they addressed a special devotional for Church employees. Here is a snapshot of them during a special devotional with Church employees at the Africa Southeast Area office. 

Their visit, from August 18 to August 27, will take them through South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Congo, and The Democratic Republic of the Congo. Sister Aburto was called in April 2017 as the second counselor in the general presidency of the Relief Society, the Church’s organization for its six million female members ages 18 and older. She was born in Nicaragua.

Sister Oscarson was called as the Young Women general president in April 2013. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
