David Russell Adams with his wife, Anna Michel Adams, has been called to serve as the new Mission President of the Madagascar Antananarivo Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, known as The Mormons. He started his service on 1 July 2012, and will expect to serve for a period of three years. President and Sister Adams are from Fresno, California, they have four children, and eight grandchildren.
The Madagascar Mission includes the Islands of Madagascar, Mauritius and Reunion. The Church in Madagascar has a total membership of over 8,000. Mauritius has more than 400 members, and Reunion approximately 850. The Mission gains around 1100 new converts each year.
President and Sister Adams goal and vision of the Mission are to see the church to continue to grow and develop in preparation for a temple in Madagascar.

President Sean Donnelly, with his wife Dianne , were recently released as The Mission President of Madagascar. He is currently serving as the Public Affairs Area Director for the Church in the Africa Southeast Area. Many thanks go to the Donnellys for the time and effort they put into their Mission President assignment. They will be greatly missed.
