Ground Is Broken For Durban, South Africa Temple

Durban Temple will benefit area members

Elder Cook, Africa Southeast Area President, said, “We can likewise begin building. We can build our personal lives in preparation for the temple. Today we can begin increasing our faith, our obedience to God, and serve Him more fully.”

The Durban Temple will be designed to exact specifications and will be in keeping with the general architecture of the area. It has taken over four years of careful planning to reach this point.

“The temple, and the work that will be done in the temple, will enhance and bless individual lives, it will bless the Durban area, and it will bless South Africa,” Elder Cook said.

He invited all people in the temple district to become involved in temple preparation. He encouraged Church members “to prepare to enter the dedicated temple, to receive your own ordinances and to perform ordinances on behalf of your deceased loved ones. Create a plan that will help you prepare to do this.”

“If you are not currently a member of the Church, talk to a friend and find out how you can learn more about it. We would love to have you join us in this important work,” he said.
