The fifth annual law and religion symposium is taking place this week in Morocco's capital - Rabat. The event aims to protect and defend religious freedom. This year it is taking place at the International University of Rabat. More than 100 delegates are present including academics, government leaders and human-rights activists.
The delegates are joined by organisers and sponsors. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Brigham Young University J Reuben Clark's law School is a significant donor for the symposium. The Church itself has had a long history of religious persecution and is a global advocate of religious liberty. Religious freedom and freedom of conscience are fundamental human rights.
