Africa set to welcome Sister Aburto and Sister Oscarson on a special visit

A Visit To See and Hear The Members

Sister Reyna I. Aburto, Second Counselor in Relief Society general presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Sister Bonnie L. Oscarson, President of the Young Women organisation, are scheduled to visit several African countries this month to meet with members and train local Church leaders.

Their visit will give them the opportunity to see first-hand the impact of the gospel in the lives of the youth and women.

They will also interact with the missionaries, as well as visit some of the Church’s humanitarian projects in the Africa Southeast Area.

Their visit, which begins on August 18 to August 27, 2017 will take them through South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Congo, and The Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Sister Aburto was called in April 2017 as the second counselor in the general presidency of the Relief Society, the Church’s organization for its six million female members ages 18 and older. She was born in Nicaragua.

Sister Oscarson was called as the Young Women general president in April 2013. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
